My Birthday Tradition

Happy Birthday To Me

Three years ago today, Jordan & I stated the tradition of going to Joe's Crab Shack on my birthday. Although, not a single visit has been more exciting than that first, they are all so special.

As you can see above, my charming boyfriend decided it would be funny to make me dress up in PAPER TOWEL, and parade around the restaurant. I have never been so embarrassed. Without a doubt, it is a memory than neither one of us will ever forget.

After dinner, we shared a walk along with Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.

Today, celebrating without Jordan really didn't seem to appealing. I am bummed that he isn't here, while he is bummed that he can't be here. BUT, don't think that stopped me from carrying on the tradition. After all, he wants everything to continue as it did when he was here.
Why would my birthday be any different?

This year I went to Joe's Crab Shack with two of the most important people in my life. (Also two people who have never been to JCS.) My grandmother, Gladys Brown and Layne Kelle made sure that my birthday celebration continued, without any hiccups.  Well, I might have had just a few hiccups after the drink they made me. Although Jordan couldn't be here, he was ecstatic that I went out as normal, and thankful that I have these two amazing people in my life... helping along this LONG journey without him.

I can honestly say that today I miss my husband more than I have any other day since this deployment. I miss him, not only for myself... but because I know he would give anything to be here on my big day. I am thankful for our traditions, our family, and mostly- OUR LOVE.  Recapping how silly he made me feel that birthday together in 2008 put the biggest smile on my face.

There is a possibly that he will be home this year on his birthday. Little does he know, that crown & sash are tucked away safely in my wooden chest ... just waiting on the perfect moment for revenge.

To many more birthdays, traditions, & mostly memories......
