Potty "Training" ... for lack of better words

So many people have asked how I was able to "potty train" Layne in 3 days... *fingers crossed* that he continues. :) So, here it is... 

Day 1: Mommy & Layne Day- No exceptions, just the two of us. 

• No TV.
• No Phone for Mommy... you'll see why later.
• Games, puzzles, and busy toys. 

We stocked up the night before on LOTS of snacks, both sweet and salty, to make him thirsty and TONS of juice boxes. 

To start the day, we had a healthy breakfast. The day ahead consisted of nothing healthy whatsoever. After breakfast, we took all of the diapers and threw them in the garbage. I repeated over and over, "Diapers are for babies, and Layne Kelle is soooooooo BIG!" Repetition is key. He stayed naked the entire first day. We set the time on the stove for 15 min. Every 15 minutes, he had to try to potty... juice, 15 min, potty, juice..... you get it..... 

If he pottied in the potty, he got a sticker on his "big boy chart" and got to pick one person to call and brag too. He usually chose Gigi (his great grandma) & his Aunt Sydnee. He then got to pick a prize (candy) from the "prize bucket", after washing his hands and making his calls. We did this all day long, no exceptions. After the first 4 hours or so, he started going to the potty before the timer went off... lucky mommy. :) He got so excited each time watching me do the "potty dance" and flushing the pee pee in the toilet. 

THEN ... came bedtime. We put on a "big boy pull up" and explained that it has to stay dry and he still had to use the big boy potty because he is BIG! To my surprise, I woke him in the morning to a DRY pull up and a BIG boy rushing to the potty. *Lucky again... maybe.* 

Day 2: We did only the prize bucket and call chart, no more stickers... 

Day 3: Normal day, back to some TV, playing, and trying to get into the swing of things...

We are now on Day 5 and he is a potty trained little BOY! 

I won't lie, this took dedication and it was EXHAUSTING... but so worth it in every way. 

& what would my blog post be without some photos, oh yes, I had my camera... (Please excuse the low quality images, as I was dealing with pee all day. ;)
