New Vehicle, New Emotions

This week, we started looking into purchasing a new vehicle for our family. We have been driving the same vehicle that I purchased in high school for the last 5 years. Jordan and I have made many small purchases together, no biggie, and who would have thought the emotion that goes into signing a paper for THAT much money! Being young and not having established credit made the process SO much longer, and so much more detailed. After crunching numbers and test driving multiple vehicles, they were not going to finance us for what we wanted at the price we wanted. We were walking out, when an older gentleman came calling after us. The first thing he said was, "Did I hear correctly that you just got home from Iraq?" Jordan replied, "Yes, sir, that's correct." He extended his hand and thanked him for his service before telling us that he himself was a Marine Veteran. He asked that we come back in and sit down. He later introduced himself as the head of *dealership* and that he was willing to do whatever he needed to do in order to finance us. He took a GREAT amount of money off the price of the vehicle, we met with finance, and were ready to drive out of the dealership in our new car when he came back out. It isn't the new car that I will remember from yesterday. It is what he said right before we drove away.

"Mr. Bull, It's people like you in this country that sometimes go unnoticed for the huge sacrifices that you make for them everyday. When I was deployed, I was young, without a family. You are leaving behind 2 sweet boys, a gorgeous wife, and to top it off, you are so young. You should be so proud of yourself and your family. Thank you, again for your service and for allowing me to sell your family a dependable vehicle. It's the least I can do."
